Pool House and Art Studio

Pool House

Project Description

After the windstorm damaged the existing pool house, we created a much more useful and spacious studio. The flat roof was removed and reframed with an open truss ceiling. The select grade douglas fir framing and pine v-groove roof boards were then sand blasted to bring out the true colors and texture of the wood. The wood was left in its natural state with no stain or lacquer. The addition of creative lighting, natural wood finish doors, bamboo flooring and light paint colors all contribute to this open and magnificent space. The room received a mini-split HVAC system and the roof was insulated with solid foam R-40 panels under the final roofing materials. This allowed for the open look but still maintain Title 24 energy requirements.
